SUDOCO at the EERA DeepWind Conference 2025

SUDOCO presents poster on wind energy's environmental benefits and innovation.

From January 15th to 17th, the SUDOCO project participated in the EERA DeepWind conference in Trondheim, Norway. Project partner TUM actively contributed to the event with a poster presentation focusing on the environmental value of wind energy generation, specifically through wind farm control.

The presentation introduced a method to quantify the greenhouse gas emissions displaced by wind energy in the connected electricity grid. Due to the time-varying nature of the grid, this environmental value can be maximized by adjusting wind farm operations to increase output when fossil fuel-based energy dominates the grid.

EERA DeepWind is an international event dedicated to presenting cutting-edge research and innovation in deep-sea offshore wind farms, including both bottom-fixed and floating technologies. The conference, held annually since 2004, is organized by SINTEF, NTNU, and the EERA Joint Programme on Wind.
