SUDOCO General Assembly in Munich: new results are shaping the Control Room of the Future
The SUDOCO consortium gathered in Munich on 3–4 November 2026 for its latest General Assembly, hosted by the Technical University of Munich (TUM). Two days of discussions highlighted the wealth of new results emerging across the project, bringing the vision of the Control Room of the Future increasingly into focus.
Held at the TUM Institute for Advanced Study in Garching, the meeting brought together project partners to review progress, share findings and discuss the next steps towards smarter, more efficient and integrated wind farm operations.
From flow control and advanced control strategies to co-design, demonstration and validation activities, the different work packages presented significant developments that are gradually defining how the Control Room of the Future will operate. Together, these results are contributing to a more comprehensive approach to wind farm management, combining data-driven solutions, innovative control technologies and operational insights.
A particular highlight came from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), which shared a wide range of new findings from its research on wind farm control in the Mediterranean basin. These studies provide valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities of optimising wind farm performance under the specific conditions of the region, further enriching SUDOCO’s overall approach.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to align the project’s technical developments with its communication, dissemination and exploitation activities, ensuring that the emerging results reach the relevant scientific and industrial communities.
With new findings coming together across its work packages, SUDOCO is moving closer to turning the Control Room of the Future from a vision into a concrete, integrated concept for the wind energy sector.
