Highlights from the fourth SUDOCO General Assembly in Barcelona

On 22nd and 23rd April, SUDOCO’s partner meet up for the 4th General Assembly to share project updates and present recent progress on the Control Room of the Future.

Hosted by Youwind, the meeting brought together all project partners to review advancements across each work stream. Presentations and discussions highlighted the SUDOCO’s integrated approach to combining data, models, and software into a unified Control Room of the Future.

“Our fourth consortium meeting took place in Barcelona, strategically planned just ahead of our project review meeting” reports Jan-Willem van Wingerden, Full Professor at the Technical University of Delft and the project coordinator “Once again, the scientific content and progress were remarkable, reaffirming that we are on the right track.”

Key topics included value functions for evaluating economic and environmental performance in floating wind applications, the optimization between the minimization of carbon footprint and the cost of energy, as well as simulations of different weather conditions to assess turbine load responses. Above all, the co-design of future wind farms stood out as a central theme.

“A special highlight was the incredible hospitality of our project partner, Youwind” Professor van Wingerden concludes “From the venue to the food, the people, and the overall ambience – everything was exceptional. A heartfelt thank you to the Youwind team!”
