Wind turbine in the sea

Third Edition of the SUDOCO Newsletter

Our fifth consortium meeting, new developments within SUDOCO, and a new partner joining the project: discover all this and more in the third SUDOCO newsletter.

During the 5th General Assembly of SUDOCO, kindly hosted by Shell at its historic headquarters in The Hague, the consortium reached an important milestone towards achieving SUDOCO’s goal of enabling more efficient, resilient, and sustainable offshore wind farms.

A key highlight was the presentation of The Control Room of the Future framework – marking a significant step forward in making the control room a reality of the present rather than a vision of the future. This integrated decision-making framework combines models of wind farm aerodynamics, turbine health, economic performance, and environmental impact, providing a comprehensive foundation for next-generation operational management.

But the news doesn’t end there: a new partner, NTUA (National Technical University of Athens), has joined the project, bringing its expertise in optimising control strategies for offshore wind farms adapted to the conditions of the Mediterranean Sea.

Last but not least, the Synergies Workshop has just taken place – a joint event organised by SUDOCO, ICONIC, WILLOW, and TWAIN, where the latest project progress was shared in support of cleaner and more optimised wind energy production.

However, the news doesn’t end here: to explore further, read the full third issue of our newsletter and subscribe to stay updated with future news.
